Detectorists is a British comedy-drama television series which was first broadcast on BBC Four on 2 October 2014. The six-part first series is written and directed by Mackenzie Crook, who also stars.It is set in small fictional town of Danebury in northern Essex, named after the iron age hill fort of Danebury in Hampshire.
