Dhusamareb (Somali: Dhuusamareeb), (Arabic: دوسمريب‎) also spelled Dhusa Mareb, is the capital of the Central Regions State. It serves as the center of the Dhusamareb District. During the early modern period, the area was ruled by the Sultanate of Hobyo in the 19th century . It later formed a part of Italian Somaliland at the start of the 20th century .
