The Directorate General for Public Security (Generaldirektion für die öffentliche Sicherheit, "GDföS") is a department of the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior that oversees various departments responsible for public security. The department is overseen by the General Director for Public Security, who reports to and is appointed by the Austrian Federal Minister for the Interior.The GDföS offices are located on Minoritenplatz in Vienna.
