John Smiley Dixon "Dixie" Gilmore OBE (died 29 May 1997) was Lord Mayor of Belfast from 1987 to 1988 having previously been Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast. He was made an officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1989.Gilmore was a member of the Ulster Unionist Party and had formerly served in the British Army in Malaysia where he met his wife Esme.
