Do-ol is the pen name of the contemporary South Korean philosopher Yong-Ok Kim (sometimes given as Doal Kim Yong-ok or To-ol Kim Yong-ok). He was born June 14, 1948 in Cheonan.He graduated from Korea University, department of philosophy. He received master's degrees at both at the National Taiwan University and the University of Tokyo. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard University, his paper being about Wang Fu Zhi (王夫之).
