Encompass Insurance Company is a subsidiary of The Allstate Corporation. It was purchased from CNA Financial in 1999 as that company focused more on commercial lines. It was subsequently renamed to Encompass Insurance Company in 2000 to emphasize its focus on insurance products that fully covered an individuals personal insurance needs. Their products are sold by independent agents.
