G. V. Kumar is a Tamil film writer and director based in Kollywood.Kumar was born in Polur district June 5,1964 and he started his film career as an assistant director and story writer. He wrote the screenplay for Narasimma, starring Vijayakanth. The first movie he directed was Puli Varudhu, a comedy-cum-thriller and average at a boxoffice in which he appeared onscreen for a few seconds. This film earned him substantial recognition in the Tamil film industry.
