Gaayam (Telugu: గాయం, English: Wound) is a 1993 Telugu, political thriller film, based on Vijayawada Mafia. With screenplay and direction by Ram Gopal Varma, and story co-written by Ram Gopal Varma and Mani Ratnam, the film starred Jagapathi Babu, Revathi, Kota Srinivasa Rao, and Urmila Matondkar in pivotal roles. Upon its release, the film received positive reviews, with six state Nandi Awards, and emerged as a blockbuster.
