The Gamely Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race run annually at Santa Anita Park (relocated in 2014 from the now closed Hollywood Park Racetrack in Inglewood, California). A Grade I event, it is open to fillies and mares, aged three-years old and upward, and since 1973 has been run at a distance of one and one-eighth miles on the turf.In its 49th year in 2015, the race was inaugurated in 1939 as the Long Beach Handicap but then was not run again until 1968.
