Garowe (Somali: Garoowe, Arabic: غاروي) is the administrative capital of the autonomous Puntland region in northeastern Somalia.In the early modern period, the area was ruled by the Majeerteen Sultanate. It would later be incorporated into Italian Somaliland. Following independence, Garowe was made the center of the Garowe District.Garowe is located in the Nugal province, and is the seat of the Puntland parliament, presidential palace and government ministries.
