The General Intelligence Directorate (GID), (Arabic: جهاز المخابرات العامة‎ Gihaz al-Mukhabarat al-Amma), often called the Mukhabarat (Arabic: المخابرات‎ al-Mukhabarat), is an Egyptian intelligence agency responsible for providing national security intelligence, both domestically and transnationally, with a counter-terrorism focus.
