George C. Runner, Jr. (born March 25, 1952) is the Vice Chair of the California State Board of Equalization, the only publicly elected tax commission in the United States. He is the Republican member representing the Board's 1st District.From 2004 to 2010, he was a California State Senator representing the 17th Senate District, and was the Republican Caucus Chair (the Senate's second-highest Republican leadership post) from 2004 to 2009.
