Gilbert Ellzey Carmichael, known as Gil Carmichael (born June 27, 1927), is an American businessman, transportation policy specialist, and Republican politician from Meridian, Mississippi. He was a key player in the slow development of the two-party system in Mississippi during the late 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
