"High Water Everywhere" is a song composed by Delta blues singer Charley Patton. It was recorded as a two part 78 recording in October 1929.Its subject is the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 which devastated Louisiana. Featuring intense vocals and rapid beating on the guitar box; it is regarded to be among the finest recordings made by Patton, his magnum opus.Folk musician Bob Dylan pays tribute to the song in his 2001 "High Water (For Charley Patton)."
