The Information Systems Journal is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes papers on any aspect of information systems, but has particular emphasis on the relationship between information systems and people, business, and organisations. The journal was established in 1991 by David Avison and Guy Fitzgerald with the name Journal of Information Systems. The name was changed to the Information Systems Journal in 1994.
