Janet E. A. Henfrey (born 16 August 1935) is a British stage and television actress. She is best known for playing Mrs. Bale on As Time Goes By, which is still rerun in the United States on PBS stations, and for her role as the schoolteacher in the BBC Dennis Potter serial The Singing Detective (1986).
