James Edison "Jimmy" Darmody is a fictional character played by Michael Pitt on the HBO drama series Boardwalk Empire. He is one of the main characters in the first two seasons of the series. Jimmy is based on Atlantic City ward boss and Irish mob enforcer James "Jimmy" Boyd, whom was Nucky Johnson's right-hand man. Pitt is also the only actor besides Steve Buscemi to appear in every episode for which he is credited.
