John "Richard" Sisson (born October 16, 1936) was the acting President of The Ohio State University from December 15, 1997 to June 30, 1998 after Elwood Gordon Gee left the office.Sisson graduated from Ohio State with a Bachelor of Arts in international studies in 1958 and a Master of Arts in political science in 1960. He went on to the University of California, Berkeley and received a Ph.D. in 1967.
