KCAL-TV is owned by the CBS Television Stations subsidiary of CBS Corporation, and operates as part of a television duopoly with CBS owned-and-operated station KCBS-TV (channel 2). The two stations share studio facilities inside the CBS Studio Center in the Studio City section of Los Angeles, and its transmitter is located atop Mount Wilson.
