The station, which is owned by Hochman-McCain Hawaii and offers a Tagalog format, aimed at Honolulu's Filipino audience, debuted on September 23, 2008. In addition to broadcasting at 1130 kHz, it is also transmitting on Oceanic Time Warner Cable digital channel 882 for the entire state of Hawaii.Prior to its debut, it was supposed to have the call letters KRUD.
