The station is owned by the NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations subsidiary of NBCUniversal, as part of a duopoly with NBC owned-and-operated station KNTV (channel 11). The two stations share studios and offices located on North 1st Street in San Jose. KSTS's transmitter is located atop Mount Allison.
