Kandhari is a surname of people who hailed or originally belonged to 'Kandahar (Afghanistan)'. Kandhar was under the rule of Hindu Kings who mostly operates from the Kashmir(India) or Lahore(Pakistan). They settled in India peninsula after the Islamic conquest of Afghanistan around after (642–870 AD). The area had been under the rule of the Hindu dynasty called the Hindu Shahis mostly Brahmans since the 5th century.
