The Maltese Second Division (also known as the Bank of Valletta Second Division due to sponsorship reasons) is the third-highest division in Maltese football, behind the Maltese First Division and above Maltese Third Division. The league has been running for many years.It is contested by 14 teams; the top two teams are promoted to the second-highest Maltese division, the Maltese First Division, whilst the three lowest-finishing teams are relegated to the Maltese Third Division.
