Martin Thomas "Marty" Meehan (born December 30, 1956 Lowell, Massachusetts) is the current President of the University of Massachusetts, a position he assumed on July 1, 2015. A Democrat, Meehan served in the United States House of Representatives from 1993 to 2007 as the representative for Massachusetts's 5th congressional district, and as Chancellor of the University of Massachusetts Lowell from 2007 to 2015.
