Dr Mazlan is a prominent figure who has retired from Telekom Malaysia, have taken part in Malaysian politics and is now appointed by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia to be an advisor to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) with specialization duties with respect to the "Digital Nation Development". He is known to run in the general election in Malaysia 13th constituency Ridge area P44, the parliament in the state of Penang.
