John Michael "Mick" Mulvaney (born July 21, 1967) is an American politician who has been the U.S. Representative for South Carolina's 5th congressional district since 2011. He is a member of the Republican Party. Mulvaney previously served as a member of the South Carolina Senate, representing the 16th district (Lancaster and York Counties), from 2009 to 2011. He is the first Republican to represent South Carolina's 5th district since 1883.
