John Michael "Mike" Butterworth (January 10, 1924 – October 4, 1986) was a British comic book writer, best known for his comic strip The Rise and Fall of the Trigan Empire in the British weeklies Ranger and Look and Learn. He is not related to the novelist Michael Butterworth, author of the Hawklords series and the Space: 1999 novelizations.
