Montgomery Township is the largest (in area) of the ten townships in Gibson County, Indiana as well as one of the largest townships by area in Southwestern Indiana. As of the 2010 census, its population was 3,996 and it contained 1,645 housing units, 75% of which live in areas adjacent to Owensville. Owensville is the seat. Montgomery Township is served by the South Gibson School Corporation. Gibson Generating Station and Gibson Lake are located at the northern end of Montgomery Township.
