Nashorn is a JavaScript engine developed in the Java programming language by Oracle. It is based on the Da Vinci Machine (JSR 292) and has been released with Java 8.The project was announced first at the JVM language summit in July 2011, and then confirmed at JavaOne in October 2011.On November 21, 2012, Oracle formally announced the open sourcing of the Nashorn source on the OpenJDK repository.
