The Mike Pero Nelson Giants are a basketball team that play in the New Zealand National Basketball League. Their home games are played at Saxton Stadium in Nelson after relocating from the Trafalgar Centre (The Hangar) in 2014 due to the building being classified as earthquake prone. The Giants have won the NBL championship three times in their history, in 1994, 1998 and 2007.
