Nerekhtsky District (Russian: Не́рехтский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,140 square kilometers (440 sq mi). Its administrative center is the town of Nerekhta (which is not administratively a part of the district). Population: 11,416 (2010 Census); 13,447 (2002 Census); 15,393 (1989 Census).
