Nick St. Nicholas (born Klaus Karl Kassbaum September 28, 1943) is a bassist, and is best known for his membership in Steppenwolf from 1968 to 1970, and then again from 1976 to 1980. Nick was born in Plön, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. After World War II, his family moved to Toronto and became Canadian citizens. His sister Maren joined the Canadian Ballet Company & Conservatory of Music as pianist. He also has a younger brother, Gary who went into the Merchant Marine.
