Nights Templar was an American black metal band from Accokeek, Maryland, founded in 2010. They are known for their harsh sound and high levels of technical skill. A key ingredient in their music was the use of lo-fi recordings to create the raw black metal sound. Guttural vocals along with sophisticated songwriting were driving forces for them. The band is composed of lead guitarist James H. Whyte, vocalist and drummer Johnpaul Mattingly and bassist Jonathan Musgrove.
