Nimitz Hill is the home of the United States Navy Commander Naval Forces Marianas located in Asan on the southern half of the island of Guam. It overlooks Agana Bay on its western edge. Chester Nimitz based his headquarters here in January 1945.The Joint Typhoon Warning Center was established at Nimitz Hill in 1959, but Typhoon Karen destroyed the center in 1962.
