It borders to Upper Saxon German, Lausitzisch-Neumärkisch, Thuringian dialect and Brandenburgisch.It is spoken in an area around Leipzig, where Low German used to be spoken. It can be divided into Osterlandic, mansfeldische Dialektfläche, fuhnische Dialektfläche and dübener Dialektfläche.
