The Oklahoma Derby is an American Thoroughbred horse race run annually in mid-October at Remington Park located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Open to three-year-olds, the Grade III stakes is set at a distance of 1⅛ miles (9 furlongs) on the dirt. The Derby currently offers a purse of $400,000.From 1989 through 1996, it was raced at a distance of 11/16 miles (8.5 furlongs).Originally named the Remington Park Derby, in 2001 the race was renamed the Oklahoma Derby.
