Paik Hak Soon was born on June 15, 1954, in Boseong, Jeollanam-do, South Korea. Paik is currently the director of Inter-Korean Relations Studies Program and the director of the Center for North Korean Studies at the Sejong Institute in Korea.Paik is currently a policy advisor to South Korea's Ministry of Unification and the head of the Ministry's Policy Evaluation Committee.
