Philippe Couvreur (born 29 November 1951 in Schaerbeek, Belgium) currently serves as registrar at the International Court of Justice.Couvreur is serving his second term of seven years as Registrar of the International Court of Justice. His first term lasted from 2000 to 2007. Prior to this, he was Principal Legal Secretary at the International Court of Justice, from 1995 to 2000. He started to work for the ICJ in 1982 as Special assistant in the offices of the Registrar and Deputy-Registrar.
