Pieter van Dalen (born 22 March 1966) is a South African politician in the National Assembly of South Africa with the Democratic Alliance (DA).Van Dalen was born in the town of Kuils River in the Western Cape and attended De Kuilen High School He is a Democratic Alliance member of the Parliament of South Africa and DA Deputy Shadow Minister of Public Enterprises.When elected a City Of Cape Town Councillor in 2006 he immediately started fighting the crime of Copper-theft and started a crack specialized crime fighting unit which was called the copperheads.
