Rhea Chiles is an American former First Lady of the state of Florida from 1991 to 1998 during the tenure of her husband, former Governor Lawton Chiles. During the early 1970s, Rhea Chiles spearheaded the creation of Florida House on Capitol Hill, the only "State Embassy" in Washington D.C.Chiles founded the Florida House on Capitol Hill in 1973. It was her vision that created and sustained the House for these many years.
