Samuel Jon "Sam" Hornish, Jr. (born July 2, 1979, in Defiance, Ohio) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He currently competes full-time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, driving the No. 9 Ford Fusion for Richard Petty Motorsports. He also competes part-time in the Xfinity Series, driving the No. 98 Ford Mustang for Biagi-DenBeste Racing.Hornish began his top-tier racing career in the IndyCar Series, making his debut during the 2000 season driving for PDM Racing.
