Seoul Metro is a public corporation which runs the Seoul Subway Line 2 entirely, and lines 1, 3 and 4 partically together with Korail. It was founded on 1970 and with one subway line (Line 1). Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to merge the company with Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation in 2016 for more efficient operation.
