Sharad Joshi was a Hindi poet, writer, satirist and a dialogue and scriptwriter in Hindi films and television. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1990. His stories have been converted into SAB TV show Lapataganj.He is most known for his dialogues for comedy TV serials of the 1980s including Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, and Vikram Aur Vetal. He has also written dialogues for Hindi film like Utsav (1984) and Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin (1991). He died on 5 September 1991 in Mumbai.
