Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Inc., is a nuclear power company headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. The company operates six nuclear power units at three plants: the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant and the Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant. Combined, these three plants supply around 20% of the energy used in Alabama and Georgia. The company is a subsidiary of Southern Company.
