Star Sports 2 is the 6th Sports channel launched by Star India in India after STAR Sports, STAR Cricket, STAR Cricket HD, ESPN & ESPN HD. The channel has been launched especially for the Indian sub-continent keeping in mind the increasing demand for multi sport programmes. Star Sports 2 was the only channel whose name was not changed post rebranding. The channel was initially available on digital cable networks and DTH was subsequently rolled out on analog cable networks across the country.
