Stephen Roger "Steve" Bruce (born 31 December 1960) is an English football manager and former player who is currently the manager at Hull City. Born in Corbridge, Northumberland, he was a promising schoolboy footballer but was rejected by a number of professional clubs. He was on the verge of quitting the game altogether when he was offered a trial with Gillingham.
