Steven K. "Steve" Chappell (born April 14, 1953) is an American timber framer, author, and teacher. He was born in Los Angeles, California. He has been an advocate, scholar, and educator of timber framing for over 35 years. Steve is an original and co-founding member of the Timber Framers Guild. He served as a guild director from 1986-88.Steve is the founder and director of the Fox Maple School of Traditional Building (since 1983).
