Dr.Sumathendra Raghavendra Nadig– Born in 1935, came upon the literary scene as a prominent modern poet in 1960s. He was a close associate of Gopalakrishna Adiga, the leader of the modernist movement.Nadig's Dampatya Gita has been translated into English, Hindi, Bengali and other Indian languagesand his other major poem Panchabhut has been considered to be "very important and originalcontribution to Modern Indian Literature".
