Suri, (Pron:ˈsʊərɪ) (also spelt as Siuri and 'Soori'), is the capital of Birbhum district in the Indian state of West Bengal, India.Suri is located at 23.9167°N 87.5333°E / 23.9167; 87.5333. It has an average elevation of 56 metres (187 feet). It is situated on the extended part of Chotanagpur Plateau. Tilpara barrage on Mayurakshi river is located 3 km north-east of Siuri.
