TÜV Rheinland AG (German pronunciation: [ˈtʏf ˈʁaɪnlant]) is a global provider of technical, safety, and certification services with headquarters in Cologne, Germany. It was founded in 1872 as the Dampfkessel-Überwachungs-Verein (Steam Boiler Inspectorate), and renamed the TÜV Rheinland (Technical Inspections Organization) group in 1936. It employs about 19,320 people in 520 locations in 69 countries and generates annual revenues of €1.731 billion (49% outside of Germany).
